A regional circular economy starts with a clear plan.
Our goal is to process locally grown hemp and develop building materials from it. We bring together expertise in agriculture, plant planning and construction.
Refine the fibres.
Further fibre processing is planned for a later, second phase. This keeps the initial development focused on decortication and hempcrete.
Project in planning. The site, plant concept and financing are being assessed. A firm production start date has not yet been set.
What we aim to achieve with hemp
Hemp as a renewable resource
Hemp can provide fibres and shives for a range of applications. Our focus is on using the straw for building materials and making productive use of as much of the plant as possible.
Hempcrete for construction
Hempcrete combines hemp shives with a mineral binder. We aim to advance regional hempcrete production by connecting agriculture with the construction sector.
Making climate impact transparent
Hemp absorbs CO₂ as it grows. A building material’s climate footprint also depends on cultivation, the binder, processing, transport and service life. We therefore distinguish plant carbon uptake from verified emissions offsetting.
Planning and working together locally
We are planning the cluster in the Vienna and Römerland Carnuntum region. The aim is to connect cultivation, processing and building material production locally. Growing areas and supply chains still need to be developed with the people involved.
